Refurbishment process for Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil to be completed
The initial plans for the final phase of the refurbishment of Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil have been approved by Welsh Health Minister Mark Drakeford, a news report in the local media has revealed.
The £119.8 million scheme will enable the Health Board to continue planning and to develop the Full Business Case to detail the improvements to outpatients, theatres, radiology and pathology departments, the Intensive Treatment Unit and a number of support departments.
The work on the ground and first floor of Prince Charles Hospital will result in better facilities for patients and an improved working environment for ward staff.
In addition, the scheme plans to encompass improvements to the car parking provision and also save the hospital money through energy efficiency improvements.
Any modern building, especially those designed to meet the specific requirements set in the healthcare industry, will certainly require a very effective energy management system to be put in place, and that’s exactly where the HeatSave programmable wireless thermostatic valves can really come in handy.
The HeatSave wireless thermostatic valves represent a very good solution for the healthcare industry, where energy costs are 2nd only to labour costs. That’s because the TRVs can help customers slash their energy bills by up to an impressive 30 percent by allowing them to thoroughly control the heating patterns for every single one of their radiators.
Moreover, it’s quite likely that the hospital could benefit from the financial advantages provided by the Government’s Green Deal scheme, given the fact that the HeatSave valves represent an approved measure to control radiators under the aforementioned programme.
