Efficient energy management could help save ‘save £500m a year’
British households could save in excess of £500 million a year by taking active control of their heating, a recent report by the Energy Saving Trust (EST) was able to reveal.
Unfortunately, British householders are not using their heating control systems in an optimum manner. In fact, although 78% of consumers surveyed by the EST claim to understand how to use their heating, half of them are actually incorrectly using the controls.
Findings published by the EST also suggest that nearly 40% of Brits believe it’s more efficient to leave the heating on all the time, more than a third (35%) turn up their room thermostat when they want the room to heat up quicker and nearly a third (31%) leave their water heating on all the time to make sure they never run out.
All of the above are simple myths, which, however, tend to bring about unnecessary additions to one’s energy bills. Philip Sellwood, Chief Executive of EST said: “Rightfully, millions of householders are confused by their heating controls because, let’s be honest, it is a bit of a minefield. There are plenty of myths out there and it’s no wonder people aren’t getting it right.”
If you’re looking for a solution to bust the aforementioned myths and slash energy spending by controlling each radiator in your house separately, then the HeatSave thermostatic radiator valves are the perfect tools for this job.
The HeatSave thermostatic radiator valves are the easiest to install and most cost-effective and efficient energy management products on the market. They are particularly suitable for retrofitting, since one simply has to remove the existing TRV and replace it with the HeatSave unit.
Remotely controlled via an easily-accessible web interface, the HeatSave valves enable users to achieve impressive savings, slashing one’s heating bills by up to 30%, especially when coupled with the HeatingSave Building Energy Management System.
